Container Condensation & Temperatures

Condensation occurs when surface temperature and dew point temperature are equal.

Dew point temperature is kept below surface temperature,  preventing condensation and moisture damage.

Why does IDS not sell gel based desiccants?

gel.png

Most container desiccants sold today are gel based.  The reason for this is quite simply manufacturers are using inferior packaging films and membranes in order to cut costs.

Gel formulations are then added to the desiccant contents in an attempt to lower the leaking risk of the cheaper packaging materials.  Once the contents have turned into a gel recycling is extremely difficult and expensive. The majority of these products end up in landfills.

IDS is one of only a few desiccant manufacturers that have eliminated gel from product formulations.  How did we do this?

Sustainability

The social and environmental impact of climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss are becoming more pronounced. Contributing throughout the lifecycle of our products, IDS is committed to address these challenges within the larger community.

Our environmental vision is targeting three activity areas:

Existing in harmony with nature

Valuing natural resources

Reducing CO2

IDS is committed to contribute to biodiversity through habitat enhancement.  Towards 100% sustainable materials,  that come from resources with a guaranteed continual supply, that can be used as part of our business over the long-term,  that have a low environmental and social impact over their lifecycle from procurement to disposal.
